Canon Macro Twin Lite
MT-24EX Flash

If my macro work dictates the need for flash, the this is what I use.
It clips onto my canon 100mm macro lens as it stands, but needs a special adapter ring to clip onto my canon 180mm macro lens.

Flight Logistics
SUN POSITION COMPASS

Much of my Landscape Photography is planned in advance and it is useful to know the position of the sun beforehand.
This cheap and simple to use compass, allows me to predict the position of the sun.
Simply line the compass with the North. The months of the year are indicated on the base and you can see where the sun rises and sets.

Sandisk CompactFlash cards
Extreme IV

The Canon Eos1D Mark II and the Canon Eos1Ds Mark II can write images extremely fast, so I needed a memory card that could quickly record images to avoid waiting between shots. At the time of buying my CompactFlash cards Extreme IV were the best available. These cards are capable of recording images faster than my camera can write them.

Epson P4000
Multimedia Storage Viewer.

This Digital device allows me to transfer and store 80Gb of images in from my Compact Flash cards or my Secure Digital cards in J-Peg or Raw format. I can view my images in fine detail due to the high resolution 3.8” Photo Fine colour LCD screen.

LaCie d2 Quadra External Hard Drives.

I use LaCie 500gb Hard Drives to store both my Raw files and my final images on.
My LaCie External hard drives were chosen for their reliability and they have been faultless.
Each file is stored on a pair of drives so that if one fails I have a back up, so I buy drives in pairs and back up daily.
I feel that at present, this is the safest way to protect my valuable files.

SENSOR CLEANING
GIOTTO 1900 ROCKET AIR BLOWER
This unusual looking Hand Air Blower is very powerful and is probably the best blower on the market for cleaning the sensor in your SLR Digital Camera.

Visible Dust
famous for scientific sensor cleaning solutions including the Arctic Butterfly have developed a brilliant high quality solution for checking your DSLR sensor for dust – the Sensor Loupe. Viewing your sensor helps to avoid unnecessary cleaning, saving time, cleaning consumables, and most importantly, reduces the risk of damaging delicate and expensive camera components.

TRIPODS

BENBO 1
A lot of people would not include a tripod in their equipment list but it is such a vital item in obtaining sharp images.
Some people have likened using a BENBO tripod to wrestling with a set of bagpipes but once the technique of setting it up has been mastered it is quick to set up and extremely versatile.

GITZO Sport Mk2 G1120 Performance Tripod
I bought this tripod recently for taking on holiday. It fits in my suitcase and it is lightweight but still very sturdy.
